They met in 7th grade English class when they were just 12 years old trying to navigate middle school. Fast forward to high school, Caroline would make Stephen chocolate chip cookies and bring them to math class (not from scratch, by the way), they went to Chipotle together after school, attended the same parties, would have long phone calls— always remaining close friends, but never anything more.

They flirted their way through the college years, Caroline often driving up to UMBC to study with Stephen, but what that really meant was ordering Chinese food to the library and just talking until 1am with our books open. She attended a few of Stephen’s soccer games including when he came to College Park to play UMD. Summers were spent catching up over countless Korean BBQ dinners and Carmen’s.

Years and years later, Caroline visited Stephen in San Francisco, as an R&D trip the year before opening the bakery. This trip marked the beginning for Caroline and Stephen as their friendship had finally evolved into something more, after decades of friendship.

While they spent some years apart, in October of 2023, Caroline reached out to see how Stephen was doing (after seeing photos of Stephen as the best man in John’s wedding ;) ). After a couple nights of 5-hour long phone calls and Facetimes, Stephen booked a flight back home for a visit.

The rest is truly history and we can’t wait to see you all back in San Francisco, the city where we fell in love, got engaged, and will soon become Mr. and Mrs.!
